Like many HT regulars, I don't often browse through HT's menus to see what's new -- instead, I just hit the "Latest Posts" link. Frequently.

But I have noticed that if I try to bookmark the "Latest Posts" page, I get a URL that looks like:

http://www.hawaiithreads.com/search.php?searchid=237126

except that the "searchid" number will change from time to time, always getting bigger. And if I try to save this URL and go back to it later, I get the error message:

Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.

Is there a way to have a "Latest Posts" URL bookmarked that works properly?

Bookmark the URL the "Latest Post" link initially points to:

http://www.hawaiithreads.com/search....52,53,54,55,69

It's long and clunky (since it's specifically excluding certain subforums such as the geocaching group), but it works. You might want to update it occasionally, too (as I see now it's actually excluding some subforums that don't exist anymore, so I'll have to eventually update it!).

Once any search query is submitted, it's saved as a query number, and eventually expires -- so as you've found, bookmarking the post-submission URL doesn't work.
