Bayfest always has a country act and a rock act. I must say that in recent years, Bayfest has brought some of my favorites: Fastball and Sister Hazel were terrific.

            BayFest Hawaii...

            Support it, cuz...
Proceeds from this event enhance the quality of life for the Marines, Sailors and their family members stationed aboard Marine Corps Base Hawaii. The purpose for BayFest is to convey an appreciation to the local community and to pay homage to the military members who sacrifice themselves for America's freedom.

Here's da scoops on the next Bayfest in Kaneohe.

            (confirmed performers...)

Brad Paisley and Lynyrd Skynyrd last year...phenomenal!

I'm missing the first night this year because I'm going to a bon dance. Not too big on Juvenile anyway.

I think it's so awesome how it's 5 days this year. See you folks there! Beer mug in hand!

I thought Train was the headliner last year... or was that the year before . Anyway I'm down for some Molly Hatchet. I saw them back in the 80's in one of the Summer Blowouts at the stadium.

Peeps go to the Bayfest. If you're worried about parking and traffic... there's lotsa parking and the Marines got their act together with the traffic...it's unbelievably smooth sailing considering thousands of cars need to funnel past the gate. They should hire the Marines for functions at Aloha Stadium .The fireworks show is worth it too... you can just stop where you stand and get a good and close view of the pyrotechnics.

I wish they would do an airshow. Not just ground displays. I mean, sheesh, it IS a military air base.

Or, at least have the gang from Aloha State Radio Control Club have an R/C aircraft (JETS too!) demo.

I attended both days of the last airshow on the marine base with the Blue Angels. Actually, the Marine's F-18 and Air National Guard's F-15 demo was more exciting. I swear one of those F-18's practically went Mach in one approach.

THEY, meaning the promoters of BAYFEST.

The airshow I attended had nothing to do with Bayfest.

As far as I know, Bayfests have only had static aircraft displays. Lame.

I will say though, .38 Special is worth a trip out there this year!

why would they waste a drunk music fest on airshow goers?
conversely, why would they confuse and anger airshow attendees with a buncha rock fest revelers?

they two are mutually exclusive events. anyone who knows a whit of these kindsa things would know NEV-urrr. put two disparate events in one day.

I can't see myself going to a monster truck rally and bitching; "I didn't see the tuppeware demonstration. that is SOO lame!"

Ya want an airshow, ya went to one. ya want a rockfest? ya got it!
ya want rock music? Ya won't find anything lame at bayfest. ya want an airshow? don't expect it at a rock show. If ya thing the local events are lame, put on yer own.
