  • Malani or Mackey?

Okay, Pomai, you asked for this thread, so here it is!

In my humble opinion, it's Mackey by a mile (may he rest in peace).
Malani sings off-key more often than not, and usually it's way off-key. Sometimes he tries for high notes that are, oh, three or four notes higher than he can hit. Drives me nuts. On the few occasions that he's on-key, he's okay, but Mackey still beats him by a mile even then.
    .
    .

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Gotta go with Mackey, rest his troubled soul.
    But Malani's no slouch, either.

Ha ha LikaNui, you beat me to it!

I stand the same with these two as I did with C&K. They both compliment and harmonize with each other so well that I can't choose.

As a solo performer (meaning mostly Malani playing & singing), I'd give it to Malani. Songs such as Moloka'i and Ocean of Dreams are perfect examples.

Yet I love Macky's voice too! Arrghhh. no can pick.

As a solo artist I liked Malani better . With Kalapana Macky. Malani's songs "Islands" and "Moloka'i, Sweet Home" are beautiful. Macky's "Nightbird" and "Lost Again" are my fave Kalalpana songs.
