Thanks for the post Manoasurfer, interesting article.

The article fails to credit the person that developed this technology. I believe it was the professor back in the late 60's. Their next project will be coconut batteries.

I read that article on Yahoo! I think it's great. I hope some smart kanaka can capitalize on it, like those people at Hoku Scientific at Kapolei trying to do for cell fuel tech. Hawaii needs more companies like that and be more self sufficent especially in the energy field. I'll give up slice of haupia for the cause.
