Or how about the only one (known) of it's kind at Sea Life Park?
More aquatic animal than "fish" really.

You mean the wholphin, half whale and half dolphin? What was its name -- Kekaimalu? Or is that the mom?

What I found most interesting was the Wolphin's tooth count at 66 - perfectly split between the False Killer Whale father's 88 and the Bottlenose Dolphin mother's 44. That's why us "Hapa's" look da' best!

              --------------------------------

This fish is usually only caught in small quantities as by-catch on longline boats far out at sea for Ahi. It has a simliar shape and size to the Opah, with really TOUGH, BLACK scales. The white meat is deliciously moist and oily. It has a Chinese name and it's one of my favorite!

What common reef fish was kapu to everyone but the ali'i (it used to be farmed in the royal fishponds and was said to ward off evil spirits)? It is endemic to Hawai'i, can live in fresh and salt water and its Hawaiian name means "sparkly".

Roger that. Steamed with Lup Cheong and Ginger-Cilantro Pesto.. ONO! I mean the Monchong is "ono".

                    Here's a whimsical question..

This "fish" isn't a fish at all, yet in lay terms it's named as such. In this particular case, it has a name that can also be attributed to a popular holiday and spends most of its existance eating, sleeping under a rock and hanging out with a sponge.

Nope. Small kid time, we used to use bits of frozen shrimp to catch these buggahs from the shore. Fry 'em up. Ono!
