    Mazie Hirono Talk Story

WAILUKU, Maui, Hawai‘i - Mazie Hirono, running to represent the people of Hawai‘i's Second Congressional District, will "talk story" with local residents on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Maui Booksellers in Wailuku.

Maui Booksellers is located at 105 N. Market St. (at the intersection with Vineyard). There is no admission charge, and free parking is available at the Wailuku Municipal Parking Lot.

Hirono served as Hawai‘i's Lt. Governor from 1994 to 2002 and was a member of the state legislature for 14 years before that. She's running in the Sept. 23 Democratic primary for the seat currently held by departing Rep. Ed Case (and before that held for many years by late Maui native Patsy Mink), representing rural O‘ahu and the rest of the Hawaiian Islands.

Hirono's campaign stresses her progressive positions on education, the environment, the economy and foreign policy. Hirono has been endorsed by EMILY's List and received positive marks in a recent poll conducted by Ward Research Group on behalf of the Honolulu Advertiser.

For more information on Hirono's candidacy, please see her campaign's website:
