  • Coolest Name For A Bar/Eating Establishment

Real names only. Can either be a bar and/or an eating establishment.

    Mine..........

Faith in Physics, Orlando Fl. Alternative music bar/nightclub held in a wharehouse at the edge of town.

Nice sensible, left cerebellum-like name. Stuck with me for 20 years.

Fook Yuen has gotta be on the short list. "Oh yeah? Well Fook Yuen too!" And I gotta admit, I had a hard time getting "Phuket Thai" right.

"Cheeseburger in Paradise" and "Margaritaville" are fun names for cool joints... though Jimmy Buffett's grumbling kind of kills some of the magic.

I think we covered the "Dew Drop Inn" previously on HT.

I LOVED Punani's - they had the best food! and entertainment too.

IIRC, there once was a bar called "Tequila Mockingbird" in Chicago.

I don't know if it's still around but I remember a bar called Any Place on South King Street about 1/2 block ewa from the McDonalds.

I miss Punani's. I miss going to watch Uncle Robert guys play. I just saw Uncle Kawika the other week. I wasn't paying attention when it was time to throw the limp wrist action during his rendition of "Niu Haohao" and so he told me I "get F for being mahu!"

AnyPlace on S. King is still there. Couple of the girls I used to know from the bar still work there.

And as for my suggestion for an establishment?

What the PHO? offa PCH in Huntington Beach, CA.
