  • Aloha everyone!

I found this site by accident while surfing Google.
Figured it would be a great place to find out information about Hawaii.

Hey if my great grandfather was Hawaiian. But but my great grandparents weren't married how do I register with Kau Inoa??

    Any info would be appreciated!

    Thanks!

For starters you should read OHA's "Kau Inoa" Hawaiian governance registration FAQ page.

Why would you want to anyway? You really need an ID card, t-shirt, bumper sticker, or [insert useless marketing tool here] to tell you that you're Hawaiian?

We're not here to mess around
Boston, you know we love you madly
Hear the crowd roar to your sound
Don't blame us if we ever doubt you
You know we couldn't live without you

And there's a large number of Hawaiians who are against Kau Inoa. Driving here and there around Oahu, I've seen lots of large posters and signs urging folks to not sign up. Perhaps someone can provide links to stories about that?

          Re: Aloha everyone!

The T-shirts are meaningless. I had no interest in one, before learning that they actually annoyed some of the more... colorful fringes of the Hawaiian sovereignty movement. Then I got 'em for my whole family, for the hell of it.

I think my wife looks great in mine. Though she's not about to wear it out and about. I don't think everyone would have the same sense of humor as I do 'bout it all!

Frankly, I want Scott Crawford's proposed remix of the shirts...

But anyway. Kau Inoa is another thread. Welcome, HWNJAP.

Wow! Thank for the info guys.

I didn't really look at it like that? Aren't they fighting for an sovern nation?

I did read something about the controversy.

You guys think it's a bad movement?

Sorry for the Noob question? But why?

If I may gently point out, as pzarquon already noted, that Kau Inoa is another thread. Click on that link, read through the comments there, then fire away there with any questions.
And as others have said, welcome to HT!
