Re: Aloha maiā Kailoa mai
Aloha HawaiiThreads,
Mahalo for acceptance in your online 'ohana - it feels wonderful to be amongst kindred souls sharing in the Uhane & Pahaohao (Spirit & Magic?) that is Hawaii!
Our moolelo (story?) is that we are finally making our move (next few months) to Paradise after a lifetime of dreaming for & striving toward it.
We'll be establishing a food concession on the bike/walking path in Kapa'a specializing in quality Thai style entrees & Kabobs. We hope to build a fun, loyal following and become a valued part of the community.
There is much for us to learn in our new honua (world?) and we look forward to the experience & knowledge you our new 'ohana will bring us, as well as, what we may contribute back.
Again, mahalo nui loa!
Mike & Linda

Kailoa is my name. I live in Kentucky, however, Hawai'i is the land that I love most. I first visited Hawai‘i in the year 1967. I lived in Hawai‘i at that time between the years 1967 and 1970 during my time in the United States Navy. I revisited Hawai‘i in 1981 and 2006. I really love everything Hawaiian, the music and hula, the stories, the land, the mountains, the beaches and everything in between. And I love the Hawaiian language. I am a student of Hawaiian language in the Hawaiian class at Niuolahiki at http://ahapunanaleo.org/niuolahiki/. I have a question: Is there a a page at this site for practicing the mother tongue of the Hawaiian people and student of Hawaiian? I think this would be a good thing.
Mahalo me ko‘u aloha pumehana,
Na Kailoa
