Re: Adventures in Atomville: The Macroscope
Yay! All the links work! If you go to atomville.com and click on HERE, it will take you to the publisher's page. There you can see the cover and get more info.
The link at Barnes & Noble seems to have disappeared though . Easy come, easy go? Who knows?
We are looking into incorporating the web development of this into a local community college course(s). This is not a done deal yet (so I can't give any details), but definitely looks promising.

That site has a lot of people coming out of school with skills but no actual working experience. You might be able to find someone to work for a cut of the royalties or scheduled payments or some other agreement.

Re: Adventures in Atomville: The Macroscope
Thanks guys! It's been a long time in the works. And still much work to do. I was really amazed to see it on the B & N site. I'm still not sure how it even got there. Maybe they just put up new books?
This is sort of self-publishing. The woman I am working with (I created and wrote it - we collaborated on the story) was really the force behind this.
It is illustrated - I will see if I can put up a few of the characters. You can see the main characters and the town on the web page. Development of the web page may be slower- no money . We're looking into interns, which looks promising.

Very, very cool. So glad to see this coming to fruition! Hope the B&N link soon shows more of what's inside... for folks with kids who love science (like mine), $9 sounds like a great deal!

Very inventive and imaginative. I like the concept of of the "macroscope." You know, sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees? I think this idea has a real chance of working. Just remember to presevere when you hit those inevitable bumps in the road.
Good fortune!

Adventures in Atomville: The Macroscope
Some of you may remember me talking about a little project I have been working on (for years now) about 2 atoms named Niles and Livvie and the view of the world through their eyes. Ultimately, we hope it will be a book series, interactive web site and animated series and/or movie. When I talked about it before, it was merely a pipe dream. Slowly but surely, we are making progress. This is for 3rd - 6th grade reading level. And, this is purely fiction - not meant to be a textbook or anything.
Anyway, the first book of the series will be in print on June 1. Barnes & Noble is taking pre-orders on line. Here is a link:

and a link to the atomville website - it's only a splash page at the moment though:
