OK, me, too.
Knew of a guy who called a fishing tournament on the Big Island and asked to speak with Bill Fish. How his colleagues kept from exploding while he was conducting the phone interview was beyond me.
I think that name was used by Bart Simpson on his prank phone call name to Moe the Bartender. Others names he used were I.P Freely, Seymour Butts, and Mike Rotch(a replacement for a tv version of Mike Hunt).
I grew up hearing these double-entendre names but not the really risque ones. They were often used in cartoons, esp. Looney Tunes. I can remember my dad sitting at the kitchen table thinking them up as fast as he could write them down. Just thought he was doing it for a laugh! I had no idea they had a life of their own!
First of all, let me say that the first one "Heywood Jablome" got me, at first. Ouch! I guess you have to be real careful when you ask people for their names. I also grew up with ones like "Eric Shin" and "Hugh G. Rection." Or, how about a book called "Over the Hill" written by Yugo First. Another book was called "Prehistoric Animals" by Dinah Shore. Just wanted to put my 2-cents in after not posting for so long.
Oh, he was! Luckily, it was for all of us to laugh about, not just himself.
LL is so right, Tutusue! I think there are millions of us grateful for all of those laughs!!! Sometimes we watch those discs that used to be on sale at Wal-Mart for $1 with old Looney Toons or Betty Boop cartoons on them and I swear they are loaded with double entendres . By the way, the link hasn't anything to do with Tutusue's dad, but it has some DE comics, just for fun.
