hi this is sansei and if i may inquire, may anyone like kssk's song's from the past like the Song Sister Golden Hair Surprise and many other's from the time of the 70's and 80's,arent they cool?
KSSK's demographics are typically (I may be off on a couple of items):
1) Married local couple living in Aiea/Pearl City 30 to 40-something in age
2) Both are either professional State or Utility workers
3) Family income around $90K
4) Owns home
5) Drives Toyota or Lexus
6) Two kids in private schools
7) Own's a dog
8) Likes to golf
9) Shops at Ala Moana
10) Credit Union member
That said the music tends to reflect that age/gender group.

Stations playing a lot of songs from the past also attract advertisers like AARP. I was listening to KPOI 105.9 FM this past weekend... you know... classic rock... and was a bit disturbed to hear several airings of an AARP spot on the station.... Now I know I am getting old....
Haven't listened to a long music block on KSSK lately but anyone know if AARP is advertising there? I heard the Bee Pollen guy's ads there as well as on KHVH.
i have KSSK on my alarm clock radio because if there's something major going on, I want to know about it right away. So I hear about half an hour of it every day, and I am convinced the station only plays ONE song: That "Waiting on the World to Change" song.
I hate that song.
But I'm disturbed! I'm depressed! I'm inadequate! I GOT IT ALL! (George Costanza) GrouchyTeacher.com

Well duh!! You're not exactly KSSK's "target" audience

hi this is sansei and i just heard the song by gwen stefani the sweet escape and this is a cool song since the one's i heard in my youth in the 70's and early 80's so i thought to share this with everyone.
"The Sweet Escape" and "Waiting on the World to Change" are the kind of new songs that fit perfectly into an Adult Contemporary music format that is played on KSSK. The songs are new, safe and vaguely recall top 40 music of the 70s and 80s.
hi this is sansei and im now hearing the song muskrat love with tenille from capt and tenille and this song make's me feel fuzzy inside.i think it's a fuzzy song and this was a classic song.
That's a good song, but it should be illegal to play the Captain & Tenille version except on novelty shows. "And they whirl and they twirl and they tango..."

Ohhhhhhhh, I confess.........I just joined AARP yesterday. They have some pretty good travel deals and other offers. I've resisted since November of
last year.......

Have you heard other versions? I prefer the ones by America and by Willis Alan Ramsey (the song's composer).

While that's a pretty dumb video I am and always have been a big Captain and Tennille fan. Love, love, love Muskrat Love as it brings back many wonderful memories! C&T and I had a mutual friend, altho' I doubt that couple was aware of it. Mutual friend, who was a fun, nutty guy, told me that Tony T. was a fun, nutty gal. I instantly liked her! And, I've always loved her voice. Think I'll hele on over to the iTunes Music Store and download Muskrat Love. Thanks for the memories.
