I'm collecting recollections, remembered stories, anecdotes and thoughts about Carlos, who passed away this past Sunday.
Carlos was among the local radio giants of the 50's and 60's. His name comes up when wags are discussing the likes of Lucky Luck, Frank Valenti ... those guys who became legend for their off-air exploits as well as their on-air uniqueness. Carlos, Frank Valenti and Les Keiter created football and baseball recreations on radio, making brief ticker-tape play-by-play reports of mainland events seem to be occuring before their (and their listeners') eyes.
