Yesterday, I lost the KHET signal. On channel 11.1 and 11.2 I had a black screen and my HDTV announced 'No Signal!' When I checked my converter box, it indicated signal strength at 94/100, but also displayed a black screen. After doing an update scan, I discovered the signal on channel 18.3 and 18.4 on my converter box, and on 18.1 and 18.2 on my HDTV (which I also rescanned and which also displayed blank channels 18.3, 18.4). The 'new' channels do not display PSIP information. I reported it to KHET trouble call, but the person answering thought OTA broadcast had 'gone away' with the switch to digital TV. Anyone else notice this glitch (which is still unresolved this morning)?

Re: Digital TV Transmission Problems
Thanks, I can only wish for an easy way to check/comment on such issues for all local station broadcasts. From my perspective [in Ewa Beach] the 'switch' to digital has been rather smooth here on Oahu. I left my name and Tel# with PBS Hawaii 'trouble call', but received no response.May I always be found beneath your contempt.

Re: Digital TV Transmission Problems
Something I've been wondering about. We get our signal via Oceanic. Some of the HD channels show programming that is full screen (on an HD set) and some of it is "shrunken" with black bars on all sides, likely to preserve the aspect ratio. Here's the weird thing. It varies often within the same show. Often a show will start out shrunken, then zoom about 15 minutes in to full screen....

Re: Digital TV Transmission Problems
buzz,
Sometimes the stations have issues with their HD feeds and down convert to SD while they solve the issue. Also, for us, the West Coast version of GMA is sometimes updated with SD and then reverts back to the East Coast recorded HD version.
