Does any one know anything (jobs, housing) about Madison, South Dakota?

My son (21 yrs old) and a friend of his (also 21 yrs. old) want to move there because Friend's gf is there already. Trying to look online for employment opps, housing and the like but not having too much luck. Both of these young men are very responsible and hold jobs here on Oahu. They are both taking money with them to tide them over till they find jobs but we are all looking at the job market from here. They are planning to move in May or June. Any suggestions are welcome....time to let me baby go....

Nearest "big city" online newspaper
Craigslist (if covering that area)
Calling area's employment agencies
Calling area's realtors (rental info)

Aloha kakou. Just wanted to share an update with everyone here....I've had some great responses to my questions about S. Dakota.

My son has been there about 3 weeks and is loving it. He said SPAM is cheap so he's learned 1001 ways to eat/cook/prepare it. The weather is similar to Wahiawa for now so he's doing great! People there think he is Mexican and those whom he talks to can't believe that he is Hawaiian, Filipino, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Tahitian, Irish and Chippewa Indian!

His biggest complaint is that there aren't many Asian women. ha ha ha :-(.

One of the best things is that we found out that one of my uncles has a cousin and his ohana living in S. Dakota - just a mere 2 hours away from Madison. S.D.
The malls are great although at 8:38 p.m the sky is not yet dark.

He's loving the opportunity to see what the world has to offer and has already taken a road trip to Nebraska. Oregon is at the end of the month.

Good news! Assuming he'll still be there during winter, please let us know how he likes it!

I spent a week in SD around 1977, exactly this time of year. One day we were filming at Mount Rushmore. Great weather and all the crew were in shorts and tank tops. About mid day a police car stopped by to warn us that a storm was approaching. Within 15 minutes snow was blowing horizontally! We all beat it back to our cabins where we got snowed in! It was quite an adventure!
