I hope she fades into the political mediocrity she so richly deserves.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be surprised to see her join "The View" sometime soon. That or afternoon T.V. ala Sally Jesse Rafael,.

Does anyone know when Alaska votes for governor again? It would be interesting if she lost, which is a strong possibility. The voters there didn't so much vote for Sarah as they voted against the incumbent last time.

2010. If Sen. Stevens holds on to his seat (it's still too close to call as of this hour), don't be surprised to see Anchorage's Mayor, Mark Begich, go after her then.

I think Newsweek has this all mixed up. I think what they were reporting on was a clip from the Hustler porn movie, "Who's Nailin' Palin?" I also wonder if this is how Todd got his nickname, "One Minute Todd"?

"NEWSWEEK has also learned that Palin's shopping spree at high-end department stores was more extensive than previously reported. While publicly supporting Palin, McCain's top advisers privately fumed at what they regarded as her outrageous profligacy. One senior aide said that Nicolle Wallace had told Palin to buy three suits for the convention and hire a stylist. But instead, the vice presidential nominee began buying for herself and her family--clothes and accessories from top stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus. According to two knowledgeable sources, a vast majority of the clothes were bought by a wealthy donor, who was shocked when he got the bill. Palin also used low-level staffers to buy some of the clothes on their credit cards. The McCain campaign found out last week when the aides sought reimbursement. One aide estimated that she spent "tens of thousands" more than the reported $150,000, and that $20,000 to $40,000 went to buy clothes for her husband. Perhaps she was crying because she was told not to utter a word at the concession speech. The only future I see her in politics is possibly a Senator from Alaska, maybe even a talk show at some point in time.

On a national scale she had an opportunity and it has now passed.
