            Thank goodness!
I was afraid it might be Bruce Willis using the Sears Tower as the set of Die Hard XXIV

            ...or whatever number they're on.
To be, or musubi... What was da question?

Just like in Honolulu, many buildings are remembered by their original names... forever... Grovesnor Center, AMFAC buildings, Gold Bond Building, Pan Am building (it still has the sign on it), Holiday Mart, etc.

                  Sears Tower forever... yes!
                  I'm still here. Are you?

This nonesense has got to stop. I don't think it will until they re-name the White House the Sherwin Williams White House or something. No wonder other countries make fun of us. I would too.

One of Dallas' big outdoor concert venues has recently been re-named the Superpages.com Center. Yeah, go try Googling that for directions. Grrr. The Smirnoff Center sounded so much cooler, if it had to be advertising-named.

Can't think of anything creative this time

EXACTLY! I still refer to HOLIDAY MART, not DAIEI, or DON QUIHOTE. 1600 Kapiolani Blvd. is still the PAN AM BUILDING, the same as 677 Ala Moana is the GOLD BOND BUILDING. And, it's still the AMFAC CENTER , not Topa Financial Center.

Now, what will we do about STAR MARKET merging into TIMES?

                              (1) nothing. the time to "do something" is passed, since "we" should have shopped there more if "we" were so concerned about star's profit margin.

                              (2) nothing. at least times is a local business.
