Congratulations to the NRA for killing even this pathetic watered down inoffensive little bill for background checks! Even with 90 % public support the NRA still prevailed. Just one more example of our system of government failing. So when's the next slaughter.

Maybe I presume too much. Do we agree that keeping assault weapons out of the hands of crazy people, terrorists, criminals, and gangs is a good idea? If so, how do we go about it. Background checks seemed like a pretty good idea. Maybe it really is better to do nothing.

That is an example of our system of government succeeding, not failing. Our system is designed to protect the rights of minorities against the tyranny of the majority.
