I was in Walmart a couple of days ago and out of curiosity wandered into the "sporting goods" section. There were a number of guns on display and for sale. But what really caught me eye was the display of "BB guns" in the form of an AK47, Baretta, Colt, etc. Said so right on the packaging. They looked like the real thing. These guns were obviously being marketed to children. It was like when I was a kid and the tobacco companies were marketing candy cigarettes to my age group! The cynical gun manufacturers are much like the tobacco companies. Get kids hooked on your product and you will have a customer for life.
It took a big effort but the tobacco companies were finally given some regulation. It will take a big effort, but we can do the same for gun manufacturers. It will happen.
