You can check out all of the earthquake action at this map:

    http://tux.wr.usgs.gov/

The entire volcano area has turned blue (many recent quakes in the last 2 days)... if you go there and see red squares, that means an earthquake occurred in the last 2 hours. Very busy day for quakes at the ol' volcano.

Mauna Ulu erupting? Maybe... can never tell.
    I'm still here. Are you?

The map site is reporting a 4 pointer about 2.5 hours ago.

A light earthquake occurred at 6:15:25 PM (HST) on Sunday, June 17, 2007 .
The magnitude 4.0 event occurred 5 km (3 miles) S of Volcano.
The hypocentral depth is 1 km (0.4 miles).
I hope there are not bigger quakes.

Watching Mother Nature put on a show like this is indeed exciting, yet I, too hope for the BI peeps that these aren't foreshocks of something bigger coming.

Just two days ago the earth had the highest tides in two years. Hmmm.....that's a lot of stress on the poor, cracked thing.

Let's just hope a big chunk of the BI doesn't drop into the ocean. It will create a super tsunami.

We were discussing the possibility today. In fact, we have a Disaster Plan if anything should occur. Does anybody have one?

We would high-tail it to Alewa Heights!!

Dang!!! Now I not going be able to moemoe!! NOT!

Meanwhile here on the Big Island...what earthquakes?

Spent the afternoon laying on my outdoor recliner listening to KSSK streamed thru my computer and broadcasted to my 2.4Ghz wireless speakers deep in Keaau while munching on some crunchy ice cold cherries under my fruiting Avacado tree on a hot day.
Life is what you make of it...so please read the instructions carefully.

I munched on some cold lychee today and enjoyed the family....on my indoor sofa lounger.

Uhhhhh...in the event of a Super Tsunami, no moa time to prepare. The devastation dat was shown on a simulated documentary was horrors!!

But luckily you posted your Pandemic Stuffs cause in the Advertiser dis morning...Public's readiness key in flu outbreak
                      By Jan TenBruggencate

                      http://www.honoluluadvertiser.com/ap...06180349/1001/

"State and federal officials have a serious message for Hawai'i residents regarding the next pandemic flu outbreak: Be prepared to protect yourself and your family because the government won't be able to do it all.

"Government is preparing, but individuals have to prepare as well," said state epidemiologist Dr. Paul Effler.

Hawai'i health officials say they have enough stockpiled anti-viral medication to treat everyone in the Islands who comes down with the flu. They are training volunteer medical teams statewide. They are making plans to establish field hospitals. And they have established a system to quarantine infectious passengers who arrive on international flights.

But health officials say their plans won't be enough."

Yeah, Susie. The threat is real and my warnings and yours were indeed important!

If a remember right, a super tsunami would go right over Oahu. I'm not sure anyplace would be safe. And you'd have less then 20 minutes to get there from the time of the earthquake. Subtract the time it takes to get the alert out and you have a very grim situation.
