              Re: Marriage Proposal

The AF & I discussed marriage one week into our relationship. That was more than twelve years ago; we haven't tied the knot yet.

I just knew. Haven't seen any reason yet to make me question that feeling.

                    Re: Marriage Proposal

OK- sweet story. We started dating when I was 16 and he was 18. I got pregnant when I was 18. Not much fanfare about the proposal. We just knew what we were going to do. Parents on both sides were (rightfully so I guess) freaked out - being so young and all. I wanted a small wedding, barefoot on the beach. Parents had a fit - ended up with the traditional church wedding with a the whole family and half the town there. Not that it wasn't a nice wedding, but not I had always wanted as a girl growing up. Anyway, being so young, money was tight so I never got an engagement ring. Fast forward 25 years. For chistmas my husband surprises me with an engagement ring on one knee - the whole nine yards. Asked me to marry him all over again. We had our "dream" wedding - barefoot and all - just the two of us with a traditional Hawaiian ceremony. Then we had dinner at the Four Seasons. We call that "our" wedding. Of course Mom says it didn't count cause she wasn't there.

That sounds like the better part of the story.

What would be interesting to hear is HOW you proposed?

                      On one knee at:

                      a beach?

a ball game in front of many fans?

a nightclub while getting your groove on the dance floor?

                      a restaurant?

How and what did you say? Engagement ring?

What's funny is the aprehension here about this subject. I am too.

I dare not ask our good friend Lika Nui for advice.

His "former plaintiff" comments. That is all.

I need to take him up on a UH football game at his place in Kaneohe. Hopefully I can bring some of my girlfriend's friends for the occasion.

First you have to promise that none of the women are named Plaintiff.

Or, more importantly, that none of them intend to change their name to Plaintiff!

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
