    Any iCal users out there?
How can I sync my new Mac's iCal with my old iBook's iCal?
    Without .Mac too.

    Re: iCal

So, you mean you want to keep both running separately but have each computer's events reflected on the other? (You're not asking how to migrate from one machine to another.) Well, there are several free iCal syncing services to take the place of .Mac. They include iCal Exchange, ifreebusy.com (d'oh, closed to new users), and tweaks to use Box.net.

After you've got your calendars online, one way is to connect your iCal calendar to Google Calendar (or Yahoo! Calendar), have that calendar "shared" or even public, and then subscribe to it on the other iCal install.

Of course, with Mac OSX Server, you can run your own calendar hosting box. And with WebDAV on it, you can publish it and share it like iCal Exchange.

The easiest route would be to be a .Mac subscriber. Or, to start using Google Calendar as your main calendaring system, and just subscribe to it in iCal to display it.

      Old computer, look inside:

      /Library/Application Support/SyncService/LastSync Data/Calendars/

You'll find all your .ics files there. Copy to a thumb drive.

Then go to new computer and put your old calendars there, replacing anything that was already there.
Make trouble, have fun, do good stuffs.

wouldn't an easier way be to just select "export/backup" calendar from the File menu on the old Mac in iCal?

then do a "import/restore" on the new Mac?
