  • HawTel 11Mbps Service & RWIN

I'm curious if there is any other HawTel DSL subscribers out there with 11Mbps service. If you have it, what is your Windows RWIN set at ? I have it set a 130,088. But I'm not getting the expected speeds.

Apparently the speed test sites I was using on DSL Reports are incapable to gauging my 11Mbps service.Especially since I get excellent speeds off of Speedtest.net and Speakeasy's speedtest site. The clincher was when I found these sites below.

yeah speedtest.net is my favorite (speakeasy actually uses the speedtest.net's software)

Here’s my result using Clearwire service. Daaaamn, I’m slow compared to Konaguy! Too bad I’m tied into this contract for at least another year Jonesing for 11mbps DSL.

The 11Mbps service rocks, especially if your close to the central office or remote terminal. I believe you have to be 6,000 wire feet or less for 11Mbps and 8,000 wire feet or less for 7Mbps service. In my case I'm 3700 wire feet from the central office.

                Waimanalo, cheapest DSL:

I'm using Linux and I don't think I need to adjust anything comparable to RWIN. In fact, I don't understand why I'm following up.

Before I upgraded to 7Mbps and ultimately 11Mbps service, my RWIN for 3Mbps service was 64,020. The download speed you are getting is spot on. But there is something amiss with your uploads. It is 3Mbps/768K service.
