  • Questions about Revo Uninstaller

My AVG free is about to expire and I've elected to go with AVIRA but the process w/Revo goes fine until a list of programs w/the options to check for deletion comes up with the warning that checking the boxes should be done VERY CAREFULLY.

I have no clue what to check and what not to check.

Can I totally screw myself with this process if I make a bad choice?

I had to google those terms and the best I can say is it look's like it includes registry keys, but I'm clueless.

Figures my tech guy would be off island now...

Can I just dload AVIRA and let it overlap AVG for a while?
I know w/Norton that could cause some probs.

you might consider using kasperksy...they have a help section that gives a step by step instuction on how to remove all the preloaded and remnants of past anti virus programs. some of them are almost impossible to remove. if you arent interested in kasperksy maybe your other new program has a similar help page.

Thanx, esc. I went ahead and installed AVIRA and there seems to be no probs, but I didn't see any help section, so I'll look again. Hopefully my tech will get home soon.

There shouldn't have been any issues uninstalling AVG.

There wasn't, the uninstall que came up today and I think it's all gone, that was easy.
Now, if I can just get rid of the AVIRA banner that places itself right in the way on the screen everytime I start up..., it eventually goes away but it's making my life difficult.
