    Re: Windows 8

I saw the GUI for Windows 8. First impressions is that they should stick with Windows 7 and scrap Windows 8.

    It's too simplistic.

The Windows 8 platform has been under heavy pressure from mobile phone implementations..the Android and Ipod/ipad platforms are really into touch screens, but personally,I would rather use a real keyboard.all the best,Lensperson (lives next to Redmond)

W8 GUI is great for smartphones and tablet PC's however there are quite a few of us who routinely use their computers at work at a desk where a touchscreen is not acceptable for typing at 100-wpm. Plus the blocky icons on W8 doesn't allow for too many desktop shortcuts to be displayed at a time.

Let us face it. Tablets and smartphones have nowhere near the raw horsepower of carefully configured home computers. The original concept of home computing is self reliance.clouds can blow with the fickle winds
