I'm not sure how it spreads. It may trick the user into accepting it. But I do suggest that one uses Secunia's On-line scanner to check if various programs are up to date.

Frequent offenders is Adobe Flash, Apple Quicktime, Java, Adobe PDF, etc. All which can be exploited by the bad guys.

another great online scanner is this one from ESET from the makers of Nod32 simply the best antivirus software out there. Hackers use it!
