Oh you know what I was thinking of! And worse than that, I clicked on here anyway.
I'm disgusted and repulsed, and I can't look away.

It is all about balance. My humor offsets my rat b*stardness. If one is not balanced, they tend to tip over.

              Staying on topic........

they don't look OEM, definately aftermarket

                Re: Great Looking Racks!

What's sad is they're using cable ties! There's a method known as lacing using sealing string (flat nylon string coated with wax). You lace up the wire bundles with loops and bridges and when the entire wire bundle is finished you hit it with a heat gun to melt the wax...sealing the lace points. The finished job looks so much better than using cable ties.

Lacing is becoming a lost art in cabling probably due to the lack of availability of sealing string.

Is that different from heat-shrink tubing?

No. The problem with heatshrink is that you have to pre-assemble the tubing before making the connections. Lacing is neater and bundles the wiring up quite nicely and allows for wire drops anywhere along the bundle whereas heatshrink can't.
