DVD Player Problem (and Solution)

I've had this strange problem with my LITEON LVW-5005 DVD Recorder and this Memorex DVD Player. When I watch Resident Evil Apocalypse on both, it would stop right after the trailers. But I stumbled on to a solution strangely. If I press the menu button, it will take me back to movie ?
