recommendations: tri/quad band phone

i've got a nokia cell phone with cingular service but am in the market for an unlocked tri or quad band phone cuz i'd like to be able to use the phone while outside of the u.s.

so i've got a two-part question: what phone would you recommend and what place/site offers the best price? (i don't care if the phone has a camera or not and i also don't care if it can play tunes; i'm more interested in a phone that won't break and has a great battery life.)

the best prices i've found so far are from amazon but i'd prefer to buy locally...
