Dinner last night was at Alan Wong's.
Not my dinner, though. Barack Obama's.
All his talk about wanting to go Zippy's and Rainbow Drive-In, but he went Alan Wong's!?!
            .
            .

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Dinner from mall of asia, the third largest mall in the world, located just outside the business district in manila:

Pinakbet, sinigang, crispy pata, jackfruit in coconut milk sauce, pork barbecue sticks, and turon (banana lumpia). Maybe it shouldn't surprise me that Filipino food in a Filipino mall food court is better than what you get at most Hawaii Filipino restaurants but when I consider that it cost less than $3 per person for all of it, I am amazed.
