    Not really nick names but my co-workers and i usually have something to say whenever we go to fast food joints... like "Anyone want to Do Wendy" or "I'm goin to MAC Donald's (pulp fiction style) Although some in the office refer to fast food as "Gut Rot"

    Others are Taco Smell/Taco Hell, Wal-Fart, Target(pronouced in french i.e. tar szhay), Home Cheapo.

    my favorite though is there's a local restaurant in my town called Richard's Drive-In which all the locals like to affectionally refer to as "Greasy Dick's"

      Typical surfer lingo - abbreviate it:

      Waikiki = "Waiks"
      Tantalus = "Tants"
      Korean Bar (sometimes also applied to strip bars) = "KB"

      and of course tons of surfbreak nicknames: "China Walls", "Gas Chambers", "Pipe Littles", etc.

      Other:
      Ke'eaumoku St. = "Koreamoku"
      Strip bar stage-side seating = "Bolohead Row" (bald-headed row)

      In Japan, McDonald's is pronounced "Maku-Dunadu-Dohz". That's just plain messed up. lol

                Because of their commercials there, I cannot hear the word "Maku-donarudo's" without thinking of a "ping!" sound after the word. (Strangely enough, I also hear it after a sing-song-y "Sapporo Ichiban," again the fault of TV commercials in Japan.)

                My office is not a food establshment, but I can think of a lot of nicknames we have for it...but I'd rather not say them in public.

                          Re: Nicknames of Places

                          In Kaneohe there's a couple haunted areas (so they say) on old Pali Road, behind Pali Golf Course.

                          One is "Morgan's Corner", where they say at night you can see someone hung from a tree.

                          Near there is "Thirteen Steps". "When you walk up the stairs at midnight, it's 12 steps, but when you walk down, it's 13", according to the late Glen Grant. All it looks like is the remains of an old concrete foundation. We looked at it, but never dared to set foot on it. lol

                          As teenagers, we used to drive past there late at night all the time for a cheap thrill. Just the DARKNESS is spooky, otherwise that's about it.

                          **end haunted places**

                          Then there's "Stairway to Heaven". The climb up Haiku valley, which was actually built by the Coast Guard to access the surveillance antenna hardware up on Koolau ridge. I climbed to the top TWICE. Spookey, but worth the view when you get to the top!

                          Then on Pali Hwy, there's Judd Memorial Trail, a.k.a. "Jack Ass Ginger" which is a fresh water pond. I dived off that cliff several times. Whoah da' sore when you land! My pick-up truck's window got busted in the parking lot once and they ripped off my car stereo. Never went back since.

                          There's also a swimming pond in Kalihi valley called "Tin Roof", but I've never been there.

                            Hmm... how far out of "family friendly" can I go here... These are the ones we use regularly:

                            Home Despot
                            Breast Buy
                            Circuit Shitty
                            Compyusa (CompUSA)
                            Wally Mart
                            Freddy's (you guys wouldn't know Fred Meyer there, it's a PNW thing)
                            O-tarzhay (Target)
                            Whole Paycheck (Whole Foods)

                              Did you know CompUSA is owned by a retail management company based in Mexico now?

                              So it should actually be called CompTaco (or whatever Mexican food you like as a suffix)
