  • What 70's Night Club did you go to?

I wrote earlier in another post...

    http://www.hawaiithreads.com/showthread.php?t=12699

...and then I was given the job of building up an associated website...

In the midst of creative ideas, I would like to find out what nightclubs were around in the 70's. It could be a Disco, or a venue where bands would play.

I'm thinking "The Infinity" or "Spats" as more disco, but they also doubled up for local bands to play.

If you got pictures that would help too. Fire away!!

    p.s. thanks, in advance

I loved Trappers in the Hyatt Regency. Jimmy Borges was the resident jazz crooner but Trappers also hosted some pretty great jazz musicians...Dave Brubeck, Herbie Mann and Joe Sample to name a few. Such fun times!

Aw shucks! I didn't get here until 1981! I went to Moose McGillicuddy's at Pucks Alley the most. But mostly it was because I felt like a giant in discos where I was surrounded by cute little Japanese and Filipinas trolling for cute Japanese and Filipinas. So most of the time I was surfing dawn patrol and that required going to bed early.

Yes - the one by Michel's was called Bobby McGee's & I spent many evenings in that place.

My favorite was Rex's - hottest disco in Waikiki and also, great food! I had one of the first membership cards when it went that direction - never had to stand in line.

Nick's Fishmarket, Matteo's (just the bar, to start the evening).

Point After, Infinity and Spats were also a lot of fun.

ahhh, Waikiki in the 70's - all the ladies dressed up and the men were hot!

Sometimes, I really miss those days.................sigh.

Shucks, there used to be a floating Chinese restaurant on the waterfront downtown. Had a disco that we used to go to regularly as we liked the "katonk" band that played there. It was one of those best kept secrets. Small crowd, small dance floor, good music.

That was the Oceania floating restaurant owned by the late Senator Hirim Fong.

Eh, Auntie, wuz da Angel Flights, ah? Ho, polyester city! Eh, we old, but we still know how to treat a lady. We used to call girls chicks. Not Hs and Bs like today.
We used to properly ask, "Would you like to dance?" or "Wanna dance?", and always thanked our dance partners after walking them back to their table.

Nah. No Senior moments. I used to go there too. I used go all ova! hahahah

                              I was a Party Girl!

Had FuN but it's all in the past...well, sort of. Now, I go only to Chinatown and cause havoc once or twice a month.heheheh

It's great to remember the old days but that's what it is...the old days. We can never bring it back. We must let it go but always remember it with fondness. This past October I went to my 50th Bash Reunion in Las Vegas, it was great to see old friends and others who graduated in 1974. One thing I noticed from the event ~ we all treasured our memories of the seventies. When it was time to say goodbye we left the seventies behind.

Even till today, if any man ask me to dance, dey betta ask me properly or I going give um a Whack Whack!heheheh

I remember the ELEVATOR SHOES!!! Why? Cause I thought my late husband was taller den me. When I met him he looked 5'6. When we got married the bugga was 5'3.hahahah

btw: There was another Night Club as you enter Kaimuki. It's a Storage Place now. Near the Freeway.
