With 11 minutes to play, we’re scoreless in the first quarter. Neither team able to get a series going. Seems like Funaki is out of synch tonight, trying to force some throws.

So far, each team has had six plays.
LaTech has gained exactly zero yards.
Hawaii has gained exactly three yards.

Funaki throws a 53-yard gainer to Lane, then Funaki runs it in himself for the score!
UH leads 7-0.


(Funaki ran for 29 yeards earlier but it got called back on a penalty.)

UH holds off LaTech in the red zone, thanks in part to a chop-block penalty against the Bulldogs. An excellent strip by Fonoti seals the Techster’s fate and they come away with nothing. And...at the end of the first quarter, it remains 7-0 Hawai‘i.

Right on, TuNnl. Stripping the ball away from the Tech runner when he was only one yard away from the end zone was terrific! And so was that blocked field goal that the Warriors just made.

The Warrior defense does not seem to have an answer for the LaTech backs. Porter and Jackson are having a career night against UH! What does it take to bring these guys down? At 7:04 left in the first half, this game is all tied up at 7-7.

Four minutes left in the first half and we're leading 14-7.
Funaki threw a long pass for the TD; very risky and could easily have been picked off. But it worked.
Funaki looks really good when he scrambles, too. Some excellent runs.
OOH! Tech just fumbled the ball on the kickoff return and we've got it back on their 45!

And another touchdown!!! Just 54 seconds after that fumble recovery.
We're up 21-7 with 3 minutes left in the half.

Injuries abound on both teams, but LaTech fails to answer back after two scores by Funaki and the UH offense. A quick three and out with 1:23 left in the first half. Still 21-7.

Hey TuNnl, I assume you're watching the game at home, like I am. Did you buy the season package? I didn't. This game cost me $50 on PPV. So far, it's been worth it, though I was worried that it wouldn't be.
Jim Leahy still annoys the heck out of me, but.

Fourth quarter just started, and UH is leading 24-7.
Time Of Possession in the third quarter? UH had the ball for 12:50, and Tech had it for only 2:10.

hi this is sansei and since hearing on the coach mac show on inoke funaki,i have in my heart,a good feeling's for inoke is he's a great starting quarterback since colt and i do miss tyler graunke is i thought he was the heir to colt for being the starting quarterback and i hope he'll be the second quarterback is he can throw like colt and now inoke.
