I know a couple folks in the NE Hawaiian club who live in RI....hmmm...

    Re: Vanity Plates

A coworker bought a Volkswagen Rabbit when they first came out. He got the plate “WABBIT” and above the plate he put the letters “KWAZY”.

In Colorado I saw a Corvette with the plate “55HAHA”. He was very carefully following the speed limit.

Spotted recently on H1; “H8MYEX”. That must have been a bitter divorce.

My plate just cuts down on the number of people that ask what kind of car it is.

Turns out this random snap of a license plate, which I had posted to my Flickr account, triggered one of those "small world" moments involving a couple of our fellow HT users...

I saw this on a car today in Hilo: NO B2BZ or No be too busy. I told my wife he should have just put LAZY on his vanity plate.

Wait a minute. You're correct until that last step. Union means "or." Intersection means "and."

    If set A = {abcde} and set B = {defgh},
Then AUB includes any item appearing in at least one set, so AUB = {abcdefgh}. In other words AUB means A or B. So 2BU-2B would be "to be OR not to be."

Boy, you Iolani grads. You learn it all for the test and then nothing sticks after graduation!

It's too bad you can't use a tilde, because if I could use 2BV~2B, I'd do it in a second.

I like it because it combines the two disciplines I primarily teach. And I like it because not ANYbody would get it. But I do want people to get it, or else what's the point?

The second one was supposed also to say "to be or not to be."

What about the U for "or" instead?

Groan. Way too esoteric! I only know because I'm a fellow math geek.

    "( TWO B ) OR ( NOT TWO B )"

    or, less esoteric:
    2BR-2B
Two bedrooms, two baths. Definitely a realtor's plate.

I agree with glossyp the second one makes me think of real estate, but what does the first one mean? I have no clue.

Well, the second one would make me think you are a real estate agent or describing your living circumstances for some reason (there's a thought), so I vote for the first one.
