    Choice shots... Pomai!

My wife used to care for an elderly gentleman at his place,
along the Gold Coast there. I could/would hang out with Felix and her.

He was cool... thanks for jogging a memory.

Menehune Man, love the shots of Kaa'awa valley. Especially the one looking out.

That Google Earth topographical image is great as well. Gotta' love G.E.!

Solo mission on a sunny day (this past Saturday)...

Yep. Beautiful indeed! You picked a perfect day for that, with the ocean being so flat.
And I think you were testing us. Do I get a cookie for noticing that the correct spelling should be Humuhumunukunukuapua'a?
(There's a fish with an even longer name, but I've forgotten what it is.)

I will stay overnight in this little cave along Makapuu's coast sometime!

It's high enough so no worries of tides and it even has a natural bed too.
Not a long hike so I could carry in everything I need.
Will let you know after it happens...

We drove all the way to the back of the valley. That was the easy part...
then hiked up to the left side ridge line, to the top where both ridges meet, and up some more! Mostly on pig trails. But really not far, just difficult.

Only man made things are fences for the cattle and movie set items still in place.

Photo taken from where we started at the small shelter. Made it almost to the pointy spot up there!

Photo of shelter and car from top of first ridge line.

And a Google Earth image of where we made it to!

We could see Hakipuu/Kaneohe Bay to the left(in photos, would've been our right) and to the Kahana valley back on the other. WOW!

Pomai, that shot of Primo bottle cap would make a great promotional ad. Cool perspective.

Also from 6/22! at the back of Ka'a'awa Valley.
We ate the red mountain apples. Awesome!

And some pretty flowers along the way.

Have to admit I'm pretty beat up and sore this mornin'

Went to the very back of Ka'a'awa Valley today with a buddy!
    lost virtual tour

First photo: We hiked to a short distance above where both valley ridges meet and start up the tallest point...

Second photo: Looking back out the valley from above...
