Bumping this thread back into life because just now as I was waiting for American Idol to start I saw the last minute or so of Wheel Of Fortune. Vanna White still looks great. She and her husband (ex?) used to go the the Isthmus at Catalina Island quite often, back in the day. [/waving to TutuSue, TurtleGirl, and the other SoCal folks past and present] Vanna was kind to everyone she met, but what really impressed me was how wonderful she was with any and all children. Very sweet.

I met Creative-1's mom. She's famous in my book! She and my dad (he's also famous in my book!) worked together approx. 1937-1943! Hmmm...I wonder if that makes Creative-1 and I famous by default.

George Carlin mentioned that he heard Mel Blanc ordering carrot cake.

Talking to him one on one, he was just an ordinary, nebishy guy. But when he had the whole room's attention, he'd do impressions, voices and jokes. He was hilarious.

He's not tall. She said his features were sharper than she'd expected. She also said he was very nice and genuine.

Exactly. She chose the path of less $$$ - but MUCH less stress. She gets to go home at the end of the work-day, and doesn't bring her work home with her. Took her longer to pay off her student loans, but what the hey - I respect her choice.

Okay, I didn't know where else to put this, so... here it is.

I was just sittin' here watching the news and surfing the net, and someone had sent me a link to TMZ.com. Not the kind thing I'd regularly waste any time on, since it's kind of a National Enquirer/paparazzi-online kinda site.
But what caught my eye was that they posted a photo today of Mark Wahlberg (remember him?) peeing on a wall.
Big deal. [/yawn]
BUT. Ya know how they always put the photographer's credits under photos? Well, the photo of Wahlberg peeing is credited to a company called... are you ready for it?... SplashNews!!!!!!!!!!!
They have plenty of other credits, so it's not like they specialize in that kind of photo. It was just a coincidence.
But a damned funny one.

Heh - I live with one! (That's what the Alpha Female does - after going to UH, she came here to attend UW Law School. Got her J.D., passed the bar here and in Hawai`i --- and decided soon after not to be a practicing attorney.)
