and finally, which has to be the hands-down meaning of Christmas:
And there were in the same country shepherds, abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them! And they were so afraid ... And the angel said unto them, "Fear not! For, behold, I bring you tidings of great joy, which shall be to all my people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ, the Lord."
"And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger." And suddenly, there was with the angel a multitude of the Heavenly Host praising God, and saying, "Glory to God in the Highest, and on Earth peace, and good will toward men."

Tessie, "Nuf Ced" McGreevey shouted
We're not here to mess around
Boston, you know we love you madly
Hear the crowd roar to your sound
Don't blame us if we ever doubt you
You know we couldn't live without you
Tessie, you are the only only only

Oh man, how could I forget that movie? I watch it every year! That's such a wonderful speech, and I can't believe you've memorized it!
"A Christmas Story" is definitely a top holiday flick. My wife is utterly addicted to it, and doesn't mind the 24-hour "A Christmas Story" marathons on TNT. She was similarly appalled at the Cingular Wireless commercial using it to sell phones.
"A Charlie Brown Christmas" is also a sentimental favorite. That reminds me... gotta put it in the TiVo for this year.
