  • Your favorite songs which use the f-word

(WARNING: these links aren't safe for work and are potentially offensive)

Perfect for listening to when lamenting an idiotic decision, which you finally can laugh about. This one's rather tame: F**k Was I

OMG the Korean guy is so creepy, yet seductive. Million dolla strong, baby! If you're easily offended, don't bother with this one: What's It Gonna Be?

      hmmmm

The Movement "Jump" (The Mutha Mix)
The song starts off where the singer sez something like you are a jumpin mutha#@a

      Madonna "Erotica"
My clubbin days in Waikiki there was an explicit version of "Erotica" I heard played and I could NEVAH find at the time and still to this day (grrr) where she bluntly says the "F" word during the song.

      Peaches "F@#k The Pain Away"
I heard this song featured in the movie Jackass and had to have it!

"The Who" have been inquiring "who the f___ are you" on radio since 1978... became sort of an anthem for the college years.

Harry Nilsson: "You're Breakin' My Heart" (from "Son Of Schmilsson") - hard-driving guitar chords launch the song that many felt could have been a hit for him...except that it starts right off with the lyrics:
          "You're breakin' my heart /
          You're tearin' it apart /
          So f--k you!"

Re: Your favorite songs which use the f-word

One of the most twisted "songs", and video to go along with it is Love Me or Hate Me by Lady Sovereign. It's actually quite catchy.

Too Short isn't shy about using that word, along with many other expletives.

I don't know though. Is N.W.A. the first rap group to use expletive lyrics on recorded material? Or was there groups before them that did? Former member, Eazy-E's first solo album, "Eazy-Duzit", was quite a number in that regard.

Honestly though, if I had children, I would never allow them to own or listen to such material. I love rap music when in the mood (like after work or late at night), but I find expletives not necessary to get the point across. A solid story line, catchy hook and snappy beat can get the job done without having to say "F" this and that.

It'd be funny if they censored music how they do some made-for-TV censored films. Instead of it being beeped over or erased, substitute the F-word with "damned" or "away with".

Al Gore made a good move with a more important issue of Global Warming instead of going after explicit lyrics in rock music. The Twisted Sister guy look liked a MENSA member at a hearing before Congress with his freedom of speech defense.

i coincidentally posted about my favorite f-word song here (video at the link).

sample of the lyrics (edited, of course):

Every time I see your face
I think of things unpure unchaste
I want to bleep you like a dog
I'll take you home and make you like it

                            Everything you ever wanted
Everything you ever thought of is
                            Everything I'll do to you
I'll bleep you and your minions* too
                            * there's a version of this song that trades "minions" for "girlfriend"

i love how the lyrics contrast with the childlike singsongy melodies.
superbia (pride), avaritia (greed), luxuria (lust), invidia (envy), gula (gluttony), ira (wrath) & acedia (sloth)--the seven deadly sins.

"when you wake up in the morning, tell yourself: the people i deal with today will be meddling, ungrateful, arrogant, dishonest, jealous, and surly..."--meditations, marcus aurelius (make sure you read the rest of the passage, ya lazy wankers!)

nothing humiliates like the truth.--me, in conversation w/mixedplatebroker re 3rd party, 2009-11-11, 1213

Yeah. Overuse just waters it down.

Oh yeah baby. I hear ya. The wife and I do it MAD CRAZY, like those tortoises at the Honolulu Zoo. Slow and noisy...sometimes distracted by a crisp head of lettuce.

This one is good for when you're feeling like a white collar gangsta.

I'm reminded of a conversation our family had in the car:

Daughter: Mommy. Some grownups use the f-word.
Wife: Yes honey (looks at me), but sometimes no other word will do.
                              Daugher: Yeah.

                              God I love them
