That was one of my favorite songs when it was popular (1960s?) and I even had the opportunity to tell the above named vocalist just that! It didn't hurt that he was also eye-candy!
[...]many of those songs were part of the soundtracks of Cliff's life and my life -- and they had to be part of our collection. "Could This be the Magic?" Indeed, it was.
I love reading about Cliff and your marriage, Erika. What a love affair you two had.

I'm not a Michael Jackson fan, but I do have several CDs including "Bad" "Thriller" and "Off the Wall." Jackson of course started off as a young kid and was very successful with his brothers, The Jackson 5, of which I admit having 2 CDs of.... and most of these are upgrades from older vinyl records.

"Billie Jean" is probably one of the best songs ever from the 1980s.
        I'm still here. Are you?

Nah. "Yo-yo" and "One bad apple".

The Partridge Family Sound Magazine - actually a very good album
          Partridge Family Greatest Hits
I got a few songs (I woke up in love this morning), but can't say as I've ever gottin into them.

          Best of The Archies
Yup. Thanks to eMusic! Might want to check into Ron Dante. He's the guy behind "The Archies" and a few others.

Why do I get the feeling you could do his complete dance routine if called upon Zoltar? Including the glove and sparkly clothes.... I don't know you... but I sure can feel it coming on.....

Ok... another CD that not to many people would admit to owning.... well this is a DVD... however, I do have Peter Pan the original version with Mary Martin playing Peter!

            Manoa ducks and runs!

I admit to everything. Unfortunately my MTV indoctrinated peers usually just give me blank stares.

I have these same three, due to the fact that they are among the most incredibly well-produced albums on the face of the planet - props to producer Quincy Jones and engineer Bruce Swedien.

Re: What CDs or songs would you not openly admit you own or like?

I have been mulling over doing this:

                  <inhales deeply>

Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl
With yellow feathers in her hair and a dress cut down to there
She would merengue and do the cha-cha
And while she tried to be a star, Tony always tended bar
Across a crowded floor, they worked from 8 till 4
They were young and they had each other
                  Who could ask for more

At the Copa Co!, Copacabana Copacabana
The hottest spot north of Havana here
                  At the Copa Co!, Copacabana
Music and passion were always the fashion
At the Copa, they fell in love

His name was Rico, he wore a diamond
He was escorted to his chair, he saw Lola dancing there
And when she finished, he called her over
But Rico went a bit too far, Tony sailed across the bar
And then the punches flew and chairs were smashed in two
There was blood and a single gun shot
                  But just who shot who

At the Copa Co!, Copacabana Copacabana
The hottest spot north of Havana here
                  At the Copa Co!, Copacabana
Music and passion were always the fashion
At the Copa, she lost her love

Her name is Lola, she was a showgirl
But that was 30 years ago, when they used to have a show
Now it's a disco, but not for Lola
Still in the dress she used to wear, faded feathers in her hair
She sits there so refined, and drinks herself half-blind
She lost her youth and she lost her Tony
                  Now she's lost her mind

At the Copa Co!, Copacabana Copacabana
The hottest spot north of Havana here
                  At the Copa Co!, Copacabana
Music and passion were always the fashion
At the Copa, don't fall in love

                  ==================

I freaking love that song and I don't care what flavor of aerosol cheez you might consider it.

                  There. I am free.

I liked when Carol Bernett (sp?) did a thing with it on her show with that tune. Not sure what to call it but something of a skit/music video. She played the part of Lola. A real riot as the drunk at the end of the song.

whoa, I forgot about this thread.

I thought I was alone in the office after hours. one of the girls was sleeping in her cubicle. I packed up and got outta there after she woke up and laughed at me for singing along with "when you're not here" a couple weeks ago.

I looked over this thread again since it has been kicked up front now. Forgot to mention, several of the albums I admit to own CDs of.... I also bought on vinyl before the CD format came out.

Adding to my list of goofy CDs and/or record albums:

"Victim of Love" - Elton John, probably the worst EJ album ever this disco disaster came out in 1979 and is quite nauseating. Includes a very poor remake of Chuck Berry's "Johnny B. Goode" set to a Giorgio Morodor beat.

"Leather Jackets" - Elton John, to me this is his second worst album. Came out in 1986. Elton John says this is his "least favorite" album.

I never upgraded these 2 Elton John LPs to CD.
                        I'm still here. Are you?

                          Chumbawamba
Paris Hilton, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Jennifer Lopez-It's not that bad when seeing their music videos.

liking.......The Village People with the A side "San Francisco/Hollywood."

I've collected all the albums by:
                              Engelbert Humperdinck
                              Tom Jones
                              David Hasselhoff
                              Mariah Carey
                              Paris Hilton
                              Melanie Safka

Someone gave me a Paris Hilton CD. I have yet to open that.

Also have 3 Mariah Carey albums on CD, the best one being a compilation of #1 hits she had while with Sony/Columbia.

The only Melanie Safka LP I have is the one with "Brand New Key" and "Ring the Living Bell" on it.... from way back in 1971.
