Just finished A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki, an unusual and remarkable novel. I liked this very much.

I am now into Infatuations by Javier Marías, translated from the Spanish by Margaret Jull Costa. This is the first time I’m reading Marías. He has a very intricate and contemplative style. Probably not for everyone, but I’m enjoying it.

Just into Doctor Sleep by Stephen King. This is a sequel to The Shining, where Danny (the little boy with the “shining”) is all grown up now, but is alcoholic (just like his Dad was) and is wandering around the country from job to job. So far, I find it surprisingly good.
