Re: Coconut Island schooner
the James Cromwell, we had the ship's main wench on display at the Falls Of Clyde for decades
Re: Coconut Island schooner
Thanks
Still can't find anything about it.
I kind of remember reading about it in the papers.
Re: Coconut Island schooner
I think I found some information
I think the schooner was the Seth Parker.
It was a four mast.
Christian Holmes, heir to the Fleischmann yeast fortune.
He brought it to the island sometime in the 1930's.
It was no longer seaworthy, so he had it permanently docked, where he turned it into a bad and movie theater.
It was used in the movie "Wake of the Red Witch", starring John Wayne.
That's all I've found so far.

Re: Coconut Island schooner
Still can't find anything about it burning down.
I'm sure there are pictures of it.
I remember seeing them in the paper.

Re: Coconut Island schooner
I saw that site. Thanks.
I wish I had taken some pictures of it before and after it burned.
