Don't forget a significant portion of Hawaii's businesses are small business with many as sole proprietors. Not all of them are realtors. We have people who are freelance writers and graphic artists, for example who work out of their homes and do not have access to a group medical insurance pool.

Akaka is not as glib as Case but I don't think he was completely blown away by Case on Iraq. I respect Akaka's being aware that there was no evidence of weapons of mass destruction and no exit strategy.

On Akaka's opening remarks: Not sure about the wisdom of opening on the age issue, or pointing out why the debate host (AARP) is a good thing for him. Liked his articulation of the importance of dialogue rather than confrontation, and the overstated significance of floor debates. He really got on a role in summarizing his position on Bush, Iraq, and the like. He seemed a bit unsteady, but still comfortable.

Sorry for being a bit show. I'm transcribing the debate, and also trying to process what I hear before posting.
