  • Live African Watering Hole Cam

Has this already been posted? If it hasn't, check it out: watering hole. It's pretty cool.

My daughters and I were watching it last night and saw a rhino come in for a drink, and some hyenas too. You can go a half hour or more just staring at an empty puddle of water, but then something cool like an elephant or zebra will come in. Also, if you turn up the sound, you can hear crickets chirping and everything.

(there's also a bear cam link on the upper right).

Thats cool, Marco- I minimized it,*cuz I'm at work, and kept the speakers on...so like i can hear the crickets singing. Some one finally asked, " is there a cricket in here?" LOL, Laughing to myself- not mentioning anything about the site...lol

    * their still looking around for the cricket, heee, heee *

It's cool! I watched a bug crawl on the camera for a while and about 50 bats...one at a time! It's like a creep Fear episode....I am waiting for the ghosts to pop up!

Because I'm the impatient kind, can someone post pictures of animals there?
How'd I get so white and nerdy?

I thought at first that they were shooting stars but realized that they were far too low.

                Bioluminescence? Giant African Firefly?

I love this site! There is a gazelle drinking next to the pool right now! Has anyone seen a lion yet?

Re: Live African Watering Hole Cam

Oh...COOL! Two hyenas just crossed frame but didn't stop to drink.

There's one now!!!!! What's interesting to me is the sound of the animal drinking (loud) is totally out of proportion to where the animal is (it's very small in frame and toward the back of the pond which indicates to me that the camera is a bit of a distance away. Maybe the pond is mic'd ).

Speaking of Africa, I know I mentioned my daughter visited Africa last month for 2 3 day safaris and a 6 day hike up and down Mount Kilimanjaru. She got some great photos esp. of animals. Warning...it's the Kodak site which requires registration and they do send 'spam' a couple of times a week.

                            This is a great site!

BTW, there are links on the original site that Marco posted that will take you to many cams around the world!

Too bad I have to work for a living.

Their are literally many webcams around the world that have live streams?

Any local ones that you enjoy?

I like this one over at UH Hilo.
