Movies you HATE that everyone else LOVES

We all have them, a movie that EVERYBODY (maybe in this forum) raved about, you went to see or rented the DVD and it ended up disappointing you. What blew in your opinion?

Lately I've been disappointed by Will Farrell. Talladega Nights was dumb and I just didn't get Elf. Everyone else seems to disagree with me on this.

I hated Talladega Nights ! Too much man comedy for me.

The movie I did NOT like at all but everyone loved?

Pirates of the Caribbean! I tried 2 times to watch it and disliked it both times!
I even sat through the second one and I don't like them at all! I don't know, I just could not get into it at all. It was loud and the first time I was confused by all the dead and undead. Then when I understood I don't know, I just disliked it.

For me ... The English Patient ... just like in Seinfeld.

For my wife recently it's Children of Men. She read the raves on HT and said am I the only person in the world that didn't like that movie.

"Titanic," any of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchises, and "Predator".

"Debbis Does Dallas" was waaay overrated too.

"Sex, Lies, and Videotape."

When it came out it got absolutely rave reviews.

It was the only movie I seriously considered ever walking out on. A real stinker.

But I loved "Happy Feet." The ending was a bit weird but what the heck. It made me smile.

I loved Kung Fu Hustle, and alot of other liked it too. Did you know that theyre making part 2 for both Hustle and Kung Pow?

The Elephant Man. Totally weird, boring as hell during the first 90% of it but if you have the patience to sit it to the ending, you'll be WWED

For me, it was the entire Lords Of The Ring trilogy.

I think this was one of the first for Hollywood in creating movies for the sole purpose of creating a sequel.

The first movie had a beginning, middle, but NO END !! Just a "stay tuned for the next movie". I walked out of the theater very irate and vowed never to pay to see the next movie.

Somewhere along the line, I got the DVD for the second and third movie. The second movie and the third movie were just boring to me....and MAN, that hobbit sure did cry a lot in the third movie.

But yeah, I'm sure the readers of the books found it fantastic, but I never read the books, so it was a complete waste of time.

I concur. Smeagel irked my ass through three movies/books. The fairies were irrelevant. I just think the whole series should have been so much tidier. Brevity, Mr. Tolkein, brevity! Less is more!

But the whole "fairies turn into Orcs" arc, profoundly reminds me of being a teacher and climbing up in the DOE.

I watched it alone and didn't laugh at all. I actually watched the unrated version which had a lot of what seemed to be really awkwardly inserted profanity so that might have contributed to it.
