“When you're pushed… Killing's as easy as breathing."
The trailer is out HERE. Looks good and it may get a R-rating. Bloodest trailer I've seen in a while.

    Re: John Rambo

the first teaser trailer I saw pissed me off. My youngest kid spooks out on the stuff that is fit for television and some of the covers at blockbuster (side rant: must the video rental corporations be that freaking insensitive that spooky/graphic boxes be placed next to pixar's lastest offerings soley because they are alphabetically related and are the latest releases?!?!?! Basss-tards, I tell you!). There's *no way* that a trailer showing a graphic throat-ripping is gonna play on network!!!!

And...even more foul, what is with his hair?? If we are supposed to believe that Stallone is a gritty old merc, where's his gray dreadlocks, or natty ponytail? He looks like he's wrapping up the Flashdance Chronicles.

whooooooooooa the iddy biddy trailer is wee bit bloody eh?

          BUT what the?!?!?

What I saw gave waaaaay too much here

The main story what I got is
Is Stallone rescuing the blonde chick and those and so forth captured against their will by the right wing evil ppl and Sly as John Rambo must take them out one by one in the most slickest way we know him characterwise from the previous Rambo movies?

Unless this is the offical trailer me thinks they need to revamp it if they want ppl to see this at the theater....

            Re: John Rambo

Oh hell yeah! That's the greatest trailer evah. I've never seen one that showed a beheading, a guys throat being ripped out, and a guy being blown apart by a 50-millimeter at close range. Just the trailer itself should be rated R or NC-17.

Nitpicking about hair and clothes seems pretty silly to me, but to each their own. It's a Rambo movie. Other than the first one, they're all totally unrealistic and ridiculous. It's meant to be bloody and violent and senseless.

oh, I gotta thumbwrestle you on this. How are we, the audience, supposed to react to this aged-yet-badass VN vet, if he is supposed to be this tough old merc who still dyes his pretty hair?? Character disconnect, anyone?? Instead of responding to the story, we are going to cringe at the overtures for sex appeal.

                        Re: John Rambo

Now THAT'S one He-Man trailer if I ever saw one. I almost had the urge to stand up and beat my chest.

I'm pretty positive this isn't the trailer that's going to be shown on TV, but I think it's an excellent marketing ploy to have this extreme trailer on the net. If enough people make a stink about it, just imagine how much publicity it's going to generate.

And as for the hair, if you google it, you'll see that black dye is extracted from the Burmese Ebony Plant. It grows wild around Burma and is knows for being used by native Burmese waring tribes to dye thier hair black. Grey hair shows old age, and that is considered a weakness. Got it ?

And if you believe that, you better believe I'm going to be sitting in the front row of the theater when this movie comes out.

What demographic do you think the Rambo movies are targeting? The 18-34 year old women who will be wondering about Rambo's sex appeal, hair, clothes? Unlikely. They'll be going after guys who like to see him kick butt and blow sh*t up. Which pretty much includes any guy from the age of 10-40, and likely even beyond that range, depending on the level of one's maturity. Since I fall near the middle of that age range (20's), I think it's pretty fair for me to say that most guys my age could care less whether he dyes his hair to make himself look younger in the movie. Hey, he's already roided himself up almost beyond recognition. At least keep the hair and clothes the same so we have some semblance that it's still Rambo. It'd be more realistic to make him grayhaired with geriatric shoes and sagging manboobs, but that's no fun and would just ruin the whole movie. Give me unrealistic and buffed up with dyed hair anyday over that.

But that's just my opinion. I've never once associated "sex appeal" with any of Rambo's movies, so maybe my perspective is off.

Let's get deep. Why would you care if it is still Rambo? Because you knew that once upon a time there was this bad muggafugga named "Rambo". A couple of movies proved that he was the shyet (once upon a time). Those movies left a visceral imprint on the brain--it is that imprint that we want charged up again when we try to suspend our disbelief that he could single-handedly kick major Burmese ass in this post Ong-Bak age.

So let's think about that Rambo for a minute. We already know he's old. SS was smart where he took Rocky Balboa, because he let us deal with that humanity. Bridging is important with the audience--we want to suspend our disbelief, so respect us, ok? How on earth are we going to do that with John Rambo? Those details insult our intelligence. That, my friend, is the 'sex appeal' to which I refer.
