  • KHON being sold... again?

Erika scores another exclusive scoop with this story in today's Star-Bulletin:

"The owner of KHON-TV in Honolulu and its sister stations in Portland, Ore., and Wichita, Kan., KOIN and KSNW, respectively, is exploring a possible sale.
"Station officials announced to staff members yesterday that Montecito Broadcast Group LLC has been "approached by a variety of people," CEO George Lilly told the Star-Bulletin.
"Given the "very exciting, very active" deal-making under way in the broadcast industry, "it would be foolish, businesswise, not to listen to whatever offers are out there."
"The company will not retain a broker and will keep the window open to potential suitors for "possibly six weeks, and that should be about it," Lilly said."

Much more at the link above.
    Way to go, Erika!

Poor KHON. If they get sold again, then will the new owners cut the workforce, or add on?
How'd I get so white and nerdy?

And finally the competition has the story, in a very very short version.
They call it Breaking News, but that news was already broken.

It's like walking down the halls of a school that
lost the championship or a political party HQ and
your candidate just got whipped. Then imagine the captain
of your ship is a foreigner who doesn't care to learn your
native language, top it off with owners who are old school
          plantation luna.

Hey I heard it today from a reliable source. KHON is for real, being sold and that would be only what, 16 months since thay came into town and wrecked many lives, made their profit and ditched on the community. Both companies
are at fault. Emmis for lying to its employees ("we will never sell you out")
and the Lily's (the thieves who bought it and fired everyone who didn't already quit).
