If you wrote a book, what would it be about?

What would you write a book about, if given the chance? Are you an expert in something? Do you have specialized knowlege in some area?

I'd prolly write a book of fiction...a novel....and include things I've seen and done...'cause a lot of it is unbelievable, anyway!

You should check out this thread. It talks about the National Novel Writing Month which takes place every November. You got to write 50,000 words in one month's time!

what a fascinating thread topic!

I interpret it to mean, "what would so interest me that I would research thoroughly enough to write a book about it with confidence and passion?" These come to mind:

-island economies in the post y2k era (several books in this series)
-Hawaiian language renaissance communities (several books in this series)
-the history of where I live and notorious families of the area
-an apologia for starting one's family young in this day and age
-collaborate on some works for fitness for the 35+ woman, with an emphasis on weight-training and circuit-training (variety of media)
-an overview of how to care for the native forest
-how to draft your own sewing patterns and understanding fabrics
-a riff of the "the Millionaire Next Door" based on those who live on islands

I don't have the imagination to write fiction.

I've always wanted to write a book with the title: You Know You're Going to Hell When...

And I'd list a bunch of reasons why such as...When you crowd out a merging car when they had their turn indicator on and there was clearly enough room for them to enter...but you speed up and close the gap. Yup that's when you've bought that ticket to Hell

I'm with Mike Lowery on this one. The question is a bit like those "what kind of business would you start if you could start one?" questions. I've got several novels in various stages of completion, and I'm not eager to tell the world about them, lest I ruin my own chance at having my good ideas published!

2) financial scams in Hawaii (e.g Ron Rewald; Peter Wong - group medical insurance fraud; Barry Belafontaine - coins, precious metals, etc.);
3) "oldies" music.
