Re: If you wrote a book, what would it be about?

I used to work with Joe Rose and man could that guy talk. He used to talk about radio back before Aku, the first professional baseball team in Hawaii (and it wasn't the Islanders), his days at the Termite Palace and a crap load of other local island events surround the broadcast media.

Right now I think the only person still alive that can talk about those days is the General himself Les Keiter. I wish he would start publishing his thoughts before he loses them.

I bought that DVD, "Honolulu: The 1st Hundred years" and was so disappointed because as a documentary it didn't flow very well. I'm sure a lot of good material ended up on the cutting room floor but this one DVD did an injustice to a century of wonder in Honolulu.
Life is what you make of it...so please read the instructions carefully.

I'd write my life story, to be read by insomniacs to help them fall asleep.

Probably a book about what's wrong with kids nowadays.

Re: If you wrote a book, what would it be about?

Atomville - sort of a cross between renfest characters I've known over the years and spongebob squarepants. Everything within the story is true to the science. All the characters are different atoms - Hydros are children, who in order to grow up must fuse with each other to become bigger and stronger atoms (Heliums are teens). The town is ruled by the King Car and Queen Bon from the family of Carbonia. Lord Neon (usually inert in his ways) can become quite excited when the king and queen try to get the good citizens of Atomville to bond together and become organic. As any good Neon knows, bonding leads to a loss of identity. Of couse, after all that excitment builds up in Lord Neon, he must release that energy and blow a photon. Then we have Niles the nitrogen - a rather rougish sort who can be rather volitile in nature......... Lady Oxygen is always the level headed one..... and so on.

I'm not too worried about anyone taking my ideas cause 1) it's already under copywrite protection and 2) who'd want to.....

This actually was written as a short play for kids in conjunction with a museum exhibit on organic molecules but in my mind it will eventually be a full length book or TV series. Of course, selling it as such is another story.

Another book I've always wanted to write is "Women I Have Known" telling the stories of various women I've known and admired.

I finished writing a children's story but I haven't the guts to send it to the publisher!

And then there's the highly reactive Oxygen twins.....

I think I'd read the story just to see how well you pulled it off! Sounds interesting.

Thanks. I wondered how many would get the reference. The only reason I thought of it is we were discussing the movie at work recently.

'Things I've Seen While Hiking (Tresspassing) O'ahu Mountain Watershed Land'

I don't know if any of you know this, but there is a relatively large house-less population living aina-style in the forests of the Ko'olau mtn range. The camps are small, scattered, and well hidden, and are supplied by catchment, fruit and vegetable patches, infrequent trips to stores, and beleive it or not, they actually have limited livestock.

I'd never detail this in a book as I wouldn't want these people 'found'.

                      OR

Maybe a book about the history of cannabis in the U.S. I know there are already a few...but the more, the merrier.
