A spinach bagel with peanut butter and honey. Oh, and a sixteen-oz. can of sugar-free Rockstar.

A grilled cheese sandwich, mashed potatoes, and a glass of milk, all from Applebees.

A friend from high school days flew in, so I did the airport pickup thing... which requires lunch at La Mariana, of course! Annette was there and looks like she's doing pretty well, and Corky is still in his cage making cell phone noises.
Club sandwich and iced tea for me.

Thanks, LN. Reading that update might qualify as an entry in the "Best Part of Today" thread.

True. Annette has a 'caregiver' with her all the time and she seems pretty frail (Annette, not the caregiver), but she's still mobile and making her presence felt at La Mariana, bless her heart!

Just turkey salad and a glass of milk. Yes, I love my turkey, and I was stuffed after the breakfast I had eaten earlier today.

Thumbs up Re: What's for Lunch - Chapter 11

I had a "nooner" for lunch. (If you don't know... don't ask.) Very lo-cal but oh so satisfying!

Hmmm. Maybe that oughta be in the Best Part Of Today thread.

    Leftovers from yesterday's lunch.

Nah. Just kidding. A cheap attempt to get on one person's Pet Peeves list again.

Skipped lunch today, but I've got a sun-dried tomato bagel waiting, if I get the munchies during my prep period.

    Sloppy what, now?

Today: walked down to Pike Place Market for bagel sandwiches with the AF.

Tomorrow: something on the road, along with guitarist Charles Recaido (Summer, Kohala), as I'm giving him a ride to the Kalama festival.

Very funny, Leo. I even went back to check yesterday's lunch...just to make sure about that response.

Went to Salad Creations today at Bishop and Hotel. Oh my gosh, do you need earplugs to work or eat in that place or what? The people behind he counter in their chef outfits and vegetable-print toques, were very pleasant and accommodating. They'd put ANYTHING in a bowl for you. But then they offer to turn it into a chopped salad if you like. CHOP CHOP CHOP CHOP the decibles were deafening! Tell me if I'm wrong. My salad was huge and satisfying. Not THAT cheap, but healthy. I'd recommend it every once in a while. As I was leaving there was quite a line. If you eat there, your salad is served in the big stainless steel bowl it was made in. Interesting concept!

Big Boy Combo (add avocado), a salad with Bleu Cheese (and extra Bleu Cheese to use as dip for the french fries), and an iced tea. At Bob's Big Boy, of course. (wave to TutuSue and Tikiyaki - wish you were there!) Took my friend who's visiting from the mainland and is an old fan of BBB.
Also, we got seated at a table right next to a Hoku- and Grammy-winning musician who's an old friend, and had a great time talking story.

Half a Chicago southsider wrap from Safeway. The other half's for dinner. I'm still nursing a diet pepsi.
