Okay, Here's the breakdown. I listed about 30 videos at about $0.20 for each listing. I sold only 5- and I have over 50 feedback as a seller, so it's not like I'm a freshly selling Ebay newbie. But anyways, hoping to sell them fast,
I listed them at ONLY $.01 starting bid with a flat rate of $2.99 shipping. Which for buyers I thought would be a good deal. And if they bought more than 1 video- I would get to keep a little more of the shipping money (even though I offered shipping discount on buying more than one item)

my cost of videos = got them FREE
    listings x 30@ $0.20=$6.00 total
    Final Value Fee x5 = .85 total (2 vids sold for $ .01 and other 3 were $2-3)
    Paypal Fee x 5= 2.10
    -----------------------------------------
    Total for Listings 8.95

    sales= $8.02 ( .01 +.01+ 3.00 +3.00 +2.00)
    shipping sales= 14.95 (2.99 x 5)
    ------------------------------
    Total Sales= 22.97

actual shipping was about 2.55 x 5 =12.25 (mix of media mail & 1st class)
    cost of listing was.............................................8. 95
    --------------------------------------------------------------------
    total cost of goods/shipping............................... 21.20

    Sales------------- 22.97 minus
    Cost of goods sold 21.20
    -------------------------------------
Total Profit $1.77 / 5 videos sold = approx $0.35 profit on each video.

So, I will no longer be selling videos as singles on Ebay.
Lots seem to do better just by looking at expired listings.
I've seen videos at garage sales for like $0.50 but maybe videos are just not popular anymore. Who wants a video when you could have it on DVD??
Maybe if the video is $0.50???

Oh well- I may as well just donate them all to the public library!!!
Then they could make $1 off each weeks rental.
I just love-love-love- my local public library!

One problem with used VHS is the tape could be going bad and clog the VCR heads. Personally I'd avoid used video tapes for that reason. Plus they could be all worn out.

      DVD safer.

Looking at the completed actions is always a good idea. It gives you an idea of what to expect.

Does that take into account (no pun intended) the amount of TIME you spent to earn that $1.77?
If not, then you clearly took a loss, not a profit.

Remember -- buy high, sell low!

        Wait. That's not right.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Or haggle the price to half of what it was.
How'd I get so white and nerdy?
